Description
Sow the seeds indoors between January and April.
Soak the seeds in cold water for 6-12 hours before sowing to improve germination.
Cover the seeds with 6mm of compost.
Place in a heated propagator at around 25c until seedlings appear.
Germination usually takes about 10-21 days.
Once germinated, grow on under cooler conditions.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into individual small pots.
Harden off the young plants gradually before planting outdoors after the last frost.
Plant out in a sunny, sheltered spot with support for climbing.
Water regularly while establishing, then allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
